I’d like to take a minute out of my/your day to share my experience at your hotel.
I provide excellent service to my customers; that “excellent service” starts when there is an issue. Creating a positive work culture is most important in order to give excellent customer service. Ms. Biaggi you have surely done an amazing job of this.
Upon arriving there seems to be no anticipation of my arrival. Mr. Barnabus Chamberlain calmly asks if I have my reservation number available. We have a slight delay, some extra key punching; I’m then checked in and sent off to my room with a genuine welcome and a big smile. I get a call a few minutes later from Barnabas who informs me that I was booked at another hotel, that he as taken care of everything, that he has a cancellation confirmation number for me and please stop at the desk to sign the usual check-in paperwork.
At no time was I told that “I” had booked myself at the wrong location nor was Hilton’s central reservation thrown under the bus for making the mistake. I’m sure you know both options are possible and most probable. Barnabas quickly identified a mistake but had no need to identify to whom it belonged.
Barnabas saw that I obviously thought I had a reservation, so he (without drama or blame) simply gave me what I was expecting; then quietly took care of the details needed to facilitate that. Moreover, he was also able to pull it off so smoothly that it was not until after all was done that I was even completely aware of what had occurred. Excellent service such as this goes unnoticed because it is so seamless.
This wonderful experience has been bolstered by every other members of your team. The lady making breakfast was attentive yet not imposing. The young lady at the desk provided a restaurant recommendation and directions for me. A man whom I assumed to be the maintenance engineer was sure to say good morning as we passed in the elevator, not once but twice proving he makes it a point to greet HIS guests.
As you can see my company posts “We truly appreciate your business” at the end of every e-mail. I said all that to say this, “I truly appreciate your business” because it makes the business of doing my business better.
